Overcoming obstacles with Optimism

“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.”  Unknown

Stroke Recovery photoWhile recovering from a stroke, I had to learn many of the basic skills all over again  like stepping up without stumbling and falling down.  After extensive physical therapy, many miles walked and stairs climbed, I finally felt prepared enough to conquer a mountain with my family.

“To dream anything that you want to dream. That’s the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits. That is the courage to succeed.”    Bernard Edmonds

“If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”   Mahatma Gandhi quotes (Indian Philosopher, internationally esteemed for his doctrine of nonviolent protest, 1869-1948)

Pavers, rock, soil and plants were carried with spirit, pride and perseverance to my back yard.  I wanted to create a garden I could be proud of, and one that would shock my husband upon his return from a work trip.  Stroke recovery slowed me down a bit, but life continues to show me the beauty it can offer.

“Keep your dreams alive.  Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.”
